I carefully thought about starting a blog. People have told me the truth about my life would be interesting enough to write a book. I don't know if I am really ready for that, though. I work for the government and am off from work today. My employer like other private employers is trying to cut corners. I really think they should. There are hideous rumors about lazy,slothful government employees but I have found that not to be the case where I work. Right now we are going through an involuntary pay decrease. In the government we have job classifications that determine our pay rate. A couple of months ago an unknown to us HR specialist downgraded our job positions. We have appealed the decision but I am not optimistic that it will be repealed. We have not received a pay raise in two years and the cost of our benefits is increasing and if this position downgrade (pay decease) is not repealed, we will have our pay cut at least 11%. Personally, I was struggling financially with what we were receiving before. I can see us losing perhaps our home and car. This is not the worse thing that could happen though. I am being really safe testing the waters with this blog. I think it will help me more than anything else to share my thoughts.
